Dow Farm Kitchen

The Dow Farm kitchen is in daily use in 2021. The wood and coal fired cast iron range in the lower right corner is used for cooking and heating water, which is stored in the nickel-plated tank next to it. Cold water is hand pumped into the sink across the room.

Dow Farm is one of 13 beautifully restored houses featured between the how-to chapters of “Restoring Your Historic House, The Comprehensive Guide for Homeowners.”

A lot of people contributed to the creation of the book, but no one contributed more than photographer David Clough! Dave drove from Maine to New Mexico to photograph the 13 featured houses. Thanks to his gorgeous photographs, the reader can draw inspiration from the wonderful restoration work others have achieved. This image of the kitchen at Dow Farm is a beautiful example.

The 720 page award-winning and best-selling hardcover book available in bookstores nationwide and from online retailers.

Signed and personalized copies are available directly from the author in the shop on this page, https://yourhistorichouse.com/shop/.
