A spectacular Neo-Classical house in New Orleans’ Garden District.
I was in New Orleans for the Society for Historic Archeology conference in January 2018 and was determined to get out and get photos for the architectural styles examples in Chapter 2 of “Restoring Your Historic House”
With only a few hours available, I power-walked to and through the French Quarter and Garden District snapping photos of good examples of different styles. Even in that context of amazing houses, this house stood out. I was pleased to get a good photo even though the late afternoon light was not ideal.
Built as an Italianate style house in 1857, it was updated in the Neo-Classical style in 1890.
