Knoxville, TN, Queen Anne. Knoxville was home to George F. Barber, among the most prolific American residential architects of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He had his own publishing company promoting his designs in books and magazines and employed more than 30 architects and draftsmen supplying blueprints to customers nationwide.
This house is not documented to be a Barber design, but the level of exuberance in its form and trim details show his influence on other local designers.
