The stars on the map represent the places I visited in 2023 to photograph historic houses to share with all of you here. Along the way, I attended a Window Preservation Alliance regional conference, did some book signings, toured many wonderful historic house museums and private homes, and talked with dozens of folks who are restoring houses. So, where to in 2024?
Help me decide where to go! Is your organization in need of a conference keynote speaker? Would a book signing event at your museum draw a crowd? Does your community have a remarkable historic district with many restored homes to photograph? I am particularly interested in dramatic “before and after” restorations by individuals or organizations.
I would love to tap into my followers’ knowledge of where to find a wide variety of house styles and periods to fill up my photo files for future daily posts here. Houses in concentrated districts where I can walk around and photograph many houses in a short time are ideal, but exceptional isolated homes can be worth a stop, too.
So, what are the best historic districts and houses in your area?
Thanks!
Scott
