Spectacular Early Georgian Colonial House

A spectacular example of early Georgian Colonial architecture. The MacPheadris – Warner House in Portsmouth, NH was built c. 1716. It was rescued from demolition and opened as a house museum in 1932 and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1960. Among other features, it contains the earliest known Anglo-American murals. Museum houses can be a valuable source of inspiration and ideas for restoring your historic house! http://warnerhouse.org/

It is one of more than 20 examples included to illustrate the Georgian Colonial style in Chapter 2 of Restoring Your Historic House, The Comprehensive Guide for Homeowners. The book will be in stores by December 10th and now available for pre-order on the Barnes & Noble, Powell’s Books, Target, and Walmart websites and on Amazon.
