First-Period Colonial Jackson House

Built c. 1664, it resembles English post-Medieval prototypes. A lean-to was added by 1715, along with more additions in the 1700s and 1800s. It remained in the Jackson family for seven generations before being acquired by Historic New England in 1924. It is open to visitors seasonally.
