This fireplace alcove is located in the Eustis Mansion parlor. The mansion was designed by Boston architect William R. Emerson and built in 1878 several miles south of Boston. The mansion is a landmark example of the English Queen Anne style that remained in the Eustis family until being acquired by Historic New England in 2018. Its remarkable Aesthetic Movement interior finishes have been restored and it is now open to the public.
